October 2024 Update

Interfaith Services never sleeps; we are at work 24/7 Spreading God’s Love through Service. Thus far this year, The Ramp & Repair Division has built 8 sets of exterior steps with landings, built 14 wheelchair ramps, installed 6 new roofs, completed 2 plumbing repairs and replaced 2 rotten floors all at no cost to the homeowners. On average the Ramp and Repair Division now completes a job every 9 days. The home furnishing warehouse has dispersed, free of charge countless home furnishings to our local residents in need.

This was certainly evident this past weekend as 118 Interfaith volunteers from New Kent Christian Center and Southside Church of Chesterfield descended onto the Camp Kekoka grounds for a weekend of fun and hard work, spreading God’s love through service. They arrived Friday evening to much fanfare and after a wonderful dinner had their nightly worship service at the camp. It was early to rise on Saturday and off to Interfaith’s 5 work sites where these volunteers which ranged in ages from 6 to 76 spread God’s love through service. These volunteers completed a wheelchair ramp in the Merry Point Area of Lancaster County, reroofed a home in White Stone, built a wheelchair ramp at a home near the historic Christ Church, reroofed a home in the Merry Point area and completed a yard makeover in the Town of Kilmarnock near the fairgrounds all in one day at no cost to the homeowners.

Interfaith would like to thank W.C. Lowery Company for providing all 5 sites with portable toilets, WAR Consulting for suppling the shingles for a new roof and Ransone’s Nursery for removing the debris from the yard makeover site. As usual, Lamberth’s Building Materials supplied all of the high quality lumber.

Interfaith Services is alive and well as we “Spread God’s Love through Service” throughout Lancaster & Northumberland Counties.

See you at the Kilmarnock Christmas parade on December 13th.
