Interfaith Service Council Assistance Request
To ensure that our work is reaching those who need it the most, we only work with individuals and families who are living at or below 200% of the poverty level in Northumberland and Lancaster counties.
How to Receive Assistance
- Reside in Northumberland or Lancaster
- Complete the assistance application
- Provide photo ID and address verification
- Provide income verficiation
- Be screened by The Link
Financial Assistance & Home Repairs
If you are requesting assistance with home repairs or financial assistance, The Link will contact you for screening. Once approved and the information is provided to Interfaith Service Council, a volunteer from the Ramps & Repair Division will contact you to schedule the project.
- Applicant must prove home ownership. We will only provide home repairs on rentals with permission from the homeowner.
- Applicant must be current with all tax records.
- Income verification can be SS or SSI statement, Disability Statement, pay stub, bank statements showing direct deposit of income, pension statement, etc. Tax returns are required for all adults in the household who file.
Before you can receive home repair or financial assistance from Interfaith Service Council, you must contact and be screened by The Link.
Assistance with Household Items
If you need household items from the Interfaith Warehouse, you will need to be screened by the Warehouse Manager. The Interfaith Warehouse is open on Monday and Wednesday’s from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. You must be screened during that time frame. Appointments for screenings at the Warehouse are not required. Once your application has been approved, you will be able to receive donated items from the warehouse.
- Only one applicant per physical address.
- Applicant must provide Photo ID and another item verifying physical address – electric bill, water bill, tax bill, lease, cable bill, voter card, etc.
- Applicant must provide monthly income and income verification.
- All members of the household must be listed showing name, DOB or age, relationship to applicant, monthly income and income verification.
- Income verification can be SS or SSI statement, Disability Statement, pay stub, bank statements showing direct deposit of income, pension statement, etc. Tax returns are required for all adults in the household who file.
- The warehouse card term is valid for one year then you must be re-screened. Applicants can use the card for three visits during the term of the warehouse card.
- Applicants may only take items for your own household, not family, friends, or others. If you are in need of any big items, you must bring your own truck and manpower.
- If you receive an appliance that doesn’t work, you must return it to the warehouse before we can replace it.
- We reserve the right to limit items that are in short supply.
