Married Couple in Merry Point
The Interfaith Service Council Ramp & Repair Division has been quite busy in February and what a blessing it has been. We have added several very qualified volunteers which has been a great addition to our crew!
We have completed the following:
- 40-foot wheelchair ramp and repaired stairs
- 37-foot wheelchair ramp built
- Bathroom handrails installed
- Front and rear step replacement and cabinet repair
- Step repair
- Collapsed bedroom floor repaired
We have several upcoming jobs with several large groups that will be helping. Stayed tuned!
"It is a true blessing to provide easy and safe home access to folks with mobility issues at not cost to them. To see the smiles and tears of gratitude as an elderly person cruses down their new wheelchair ramp is priceless!"

For many years, an elderly retired couple in the Merry Point Area of Lancaster County could not walk into their home’s living area or bedroom without the fear of falling through the floor due to the deteriorated condition of the home’s floor support structure. Termites and rot had taken their toll on the floor’s supports. Contractors were called in but no economically viable solution could be found.
This is when Interfaith Service was contacted. After many hours of discussion and prayer, an economically viable solution, that was originally devised by the Ramp & Repair Division Lead’s wife, Patti was adopted. A construction plan was formulated and work began.
Today, due to many people’s efforts from Interfaith donors to the volunteer crew, this couple can be assured that they have a sturdy comfortable floor that will last for years. All done at no cost to them!
This is but one of the many success stories that Interfaith volunteers see each week in our local community. Next week’s project is a much needed wheel chair ramp near Mollusk and a leaking roof replacement near Lancaster Courthouse, all done at no cost to the homeowners.
Interfaith Service Council supports the local business community, by exclusively using Lamberth Building Materials of White Stone for all of our materials. Thanks to all of the Interfaith supporters and volunteers as we continue to “Spread God’s Love through Service”.
