How We Serve Our Community

Interfaith Service Council is a non-profit organization created with the aim of reaching out to those in need, which include people from different backgrounds and situations such as those experiencing poverty, disability, illness, and aging. Our work in Northumberland and Lancaster includes helping families and individuals with basic home repairs, building wheelchair ramps, offering emergency financial assistance, and donated household items and goods. By providing these services, Interfaith Service Council hopes to improve the quality of life of those we serve, regardless of their background or situation.

Ramps & Repairs

Many community members face challenges in accessing basic necessities due to physical disabilities or financial constraints. The Ramps & Repairs committee helps by building wheelchair ramps, installing or fixing roofs, building steps and handrails, and other basic home repairs.

Financial Assistance

Providing financial support can help individuals and families become more financially self-sufficient, reducing the need for future emergency assistance. Qualifying individuals can receive funds to help with utility payments, emergency housing, rent/mortgage, medical, and other needs.

Household Items

When community members face financial hardship, often times they don’t have the resources to invest in essential household items. Our warehouse collects donations of new to gently used furniture and household goods from generous community members, businesses, and churches.
